We are building a site to challenge people to do something in 8 weeks or less. Our first challenge is an 8 week online marketing challenge. To go from $0/day to $1000/day in 8 weeks or less with a brand new site created on the first day of the challenge (10/15/08). We are currently designing the contest site to be a diary of each contestant to show what they do everyday towards this goal as well as tracking stats and video server for the watchers. The judges will include 3 of the more famous Internet marketing gurus.
We are going to start a different challenge every 2 months. A few of the ideas include a 100# weight loss challenge, a $20k Christmas from eBay without ever touching a product (this is the next), $100k net in Real Estate sales in 8 weeks or less. Some of these are going to be next to impossible. But the winners will truly be worthy of a prize and a chance to be on TV and coach others in accomplishing their own goals.
With our ultimate goal of a television show next year to highlight these winners and the challenges they had accomplishing these goals. Thus branding a concept that you can change your life forever in 8 weeks or less.

We are in process of building the website for this 8 week online marketing challenge. After a few false starts, we are running 90 miles an hour to get this available soon. Meanwhile we have pushed our start date back 30 days to correspond with one of our sponsor's promo launch. So officially we are starting October 15th, 2008.

Searching for a good wordpress designer to finish the website for the contest
8WeeksToProfit.com is sponsoring the first ever "Online Marketing Challenge". Damon's Internet Marketing challenge
When I read about his idea, I was real excited. There is something about having a lot of people working and sharing ideas that makes everyone better. I have heard it called "synergy".
I plan to enter if Damon will let me. I doubt I'll win, because there are some people out there who are total home run hitters who just don't know it yet.
I'll see huge improvement just by getting in there and making a mess. I really like anything where I am accountable to other people and not hiding out. Not wanting to look bad in front of other people for being a big slacker is a great motivator.
Can you envision $1000 dollars a day? Can you imagine how much different your life would be if you only got 10% there?
The possibilities excite me. I'll be learning from everyone out there.

Keep creating valuable content to establish your internet reputation
Hey everyone,
I have been working hard to create some original content for Damon's websites. He asked me to do some sport's related reviews on the Olympics and the NFL for his new review site. The address is www.reviewyourchoices.com. He is always wanting contributors and he is developing a system where he shares affiliate commissions on everything you write. To me getting paid to write about sports is like taking a vacation but still getting paid at the same time.
I don't mean to scare you away from going online to make money, but here goes:
Writing is hugely important on the internet and you should make a habit of contributing every day.
I used to write sports for a newspaper back a few years up in Michigan. The thing I didn't like about it was the formality and all the rules you we're expected to follow about style and lay out. This was just before the internet took over and print media was still the dominant storehouse of current events and words.
As you can plainly see, that has changed. Many newspapers are playing catch up or heading to life support status. I predict that some day in the not too distant future that newspapers will be combination on line and off line and will be free. Meaning they won't cost any of us a red, white, or blue cent.
The reason is that writing about everything important in the world has been unchained by the world wide web. I can make more in a month freelancing and writing content for myself and other entrepreneurs, then in 6 months or more at a newspaper. More importantly, I can make passive income streams. If you have read Robert Kiyosaki, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" you know backwards and forwards the huge difference between passive income and regular job income.
With passive income, you continue to get paid without putting your labor and time towards an activity. The spigot never get's shut off. Over the last 4 years, I have worked exclusively on developing and learning about passive income streams.
I won't run bull by you, I left a lot of today's job money on the table taking this path. My colleagues in my former profession we're making the big dollars while I struggled working way harder. Still, I stayed confident in what I knew to be right about money.
Today, I see these same people with way more expenses, shaky job security and no other way to pay for things but that job. The worm has really turned.
There is a lot of learning that has gone into coming to this point. My goal with these posts is simply to cut down your learning and mistake time, so you can get results you can spend and start enjoying the fruits of your internet business quicker.
So now that I have thrown all that gobbly gook at you, let's talk substance. As I tried to mention, (before I jumped on the tangent soapbox quite a few paragraphs ago), writing copy for your business to be shared on line is totally free flowing and doesn't bother you with the rigidity and formality of traditional print media.
Keep this in mind:
1. Share what you know with people to help them with their problems. Do it using forums, blogs, email blasts, articles to ezines, whatever.
2. Share yourself with people. Get personal and give people a look at who you are.
3. Be as off the wall and entertaining as possible.
4. Tell stories. It is proven that stories stick in people's minds easier and longer than simple statements of facts and figures.
5. Do a little bit everyday. Even if it is a couple paragraphs.
No formal training necessary for any of those 5 suggestions.
I try to make it a point of being on here every day and telling something I know that might help people. It only takes a few minutes, but over time staying true to that habit makes a huge difference.

The Baddest content maker in the west
Damon and I have struck up an agreement to have me create some original content for his websites, including his 8 weeks to profit program that he is sharing on the blog.
I'll keep you informed each step of the way. Mainly I want to let you know what steps I am taking, why, and when, and how each step is working. I guarantee there will be mistakes by the minute and plenty of quick adjustments to improve what I am doing. I'll share those gladly. Maybe they'll help you smell in it before you step in it if you will.
I am excited. It plays to my strength and is something that doesn't seem like work. My rule is that I don't spend valuable time trying to do something I hate when there are folks out there who will do it for me and like it.
I have three goals here in working with Damon:
1. To write great content that people get a lot out of.
2. To follow the steps he is taking on the technical computer side to take my content and turn it into profits.
3. Develop effective methods that are repeatable so that other people can eventually pull the plow.
As he creates a winning formula, I'll be right there soaking him for all he knows, and doing a good bit of outright thievery.
The money follows the winning idea and the winning idea starts to make nails from steel when you are patient enough to keep testing.
I'll be back with updates frequently.

Signature Line/Resource Box for your posts and articles!
Hey everyone!
I put together a signature line for use on articles and postings on web forums. I used the format I learned from Noel Swanson in his “Magic Formula” 12 part program. You can find Mr. Swanson's program online at http://www.uniquearticlewizard.com/. It is an amazing course and it is free when you sign up for the Wizard.
It is worth it even if you don’t use the Wizard (but I am betting you will).
I’ll be posting a lot about the importance of sharing good content that helps people. I’ll repeat it so much that you’ll likely want to throttle me. But have mercy. I am not the end all expert for sure. But I do a decent job of observing and listening. It seems like everyone’s talkin' about Google and how the search engines give the best search engine position to relevant, useful content. I believe this chatter is spot on correct.
For instance, Q & A sites where someone is seeking an answer to a question often are in the top ten for a simple 1 term search. For instance, if I type in “Yankee Stadium”, there is a good bet that a question and answer site or at least an informational site will pop up high on the results. These sites have the purpose of solving someone’s problem, like maybe how to park near the stadium or what car Derek Jeter is driving to the yard. Or whatever.
So the whole forum recommendation which I spread on thick in the last post is about being generous with helpful information. Keep this in mind when trying run a kick butt business online. Give people value and establish relationships.
So what in the Puget Sound does this have to do with the topic at hand: the signature line? The signature line or the resource box is your chance to advertise yourself and the value of your business, when you publish an online article or do a forum post online. It basically personalizes who you are and gives people the opportunity to contact you for more information. Pretty simple.
The one thing is to make sure you are still giving and not selling. Don’t use the forums or blogs or articles to push a sale. Instead use them to give value and build relationships.

People can really relate to your message that getting the good information is only part of the equation. The other part is a huge will to keep testing and finding a winning formula that works.
One of the things I believe in strongly is the importance of giving good value for free online. For folks out there who want to build a web presence and a customer base, consider going to forums where your customers hang out and leaving posts that help them with their problems.
Russell Brunson started with basically nothing and has taken his online business to millions in revenue and he is a big advocate of forums. If you all get the opportunity, check out his "24 Hour Affiliate" seminar. I am working it right now. I am pretty sure you can get it for free or for shipping costs. He lays out step by step how to make your first money online in 24 hours.

What is the 8 week Marketing Challenge to Build a CASH ATM
This is the first installment of my 8 week marketing challenge. I am going to document on this blog daily to show what can be accomplished online in 8 weeks or less to create a long lasting income with web marketing. My goal for this website is $1,000/day by the end of this challenge.
Can this really be done?
According to all the marketing Gurus (pitching their own courses), this goal of $1,000/day is not difficult to achieve. But what they don't tell you is that you could spend as much as you make each day on traffic, PPC ads, tools and coaching. Not to mention your own time required to achieve this goal.
But, what the experts don't tell you about their own success stories, is the dirty little secrets of what they spent on advertising, traffic building, Promotional launches, Joint Ventures, list building, affiliate payouts, conversion software, tracking tools and coaching. And how many "trial and error" websites they created before they got the process to be successful.
Everyone of these experts are more than willing to "Share with You" what's needed to be successful TODAY. And most of that comes in the form of some ebooks or CD's. This information almost always falls short in telling you everything, Unless you buy more of their packages or subscribe to a monthly "coaching" program. Sometimes the sales technique is so subtle, that you don't realize that you have spent hundreds of your dollars on the same old information that is 5 years old and doesn't apply today.
Don't get me wrong, there are some excellent people teaching current "online marketing" techniques and selling products that really do work. I will share them with you on my own journey to go from $0 to $1,000/day in 8 weeks or less.
I am not selling you anything here. Just letting you follow my daily steps in this blog, as I take on this Challenge to gain financial independence and achieve a lifestyle of Freedom from the rat race. Maybe at the end, you can say "if he can do it, so can I".
The course includes how I am going to Plan, Design, or Adapt a Website with help of my business partner. I am going to take an easy to find, website template and turn it into a CASH ATM machine within 8 weeks or less. Sometimes the sales technique is so subtle, that you don't realize that you have spent hundreds of your dollars on the same old information that is 5 years old and doesn't apply today.
Don't get me wrong, there are some excellent people teaching current "online marketing" techniques and selling products that really do work. I will share them with you on my own journey to go from $0 to $1,000/day in 8 weeks or less.
I am not selling you anything here. Just letting you follow my daily steps in this blog, as I take on this Challenge to gain financial independence and achieve a lifestyle of Freedom from the rat race. Maybe at the end, you can say "if he can do it, so can I".
The course includes how I am going to Plan, Design, or Adapt a Website with help of my business partner. I am going to take an easy to find, website template and turn it into a CASH ATM machine within 8 weeks or less. Each day I will share with you, the daily tasks that I take and the tools that I am using.
Why am I doing this? 3 reasons
- I want to put a step-by-step road map out there for my 2 boys and friends to use to build an income that is not dependent on a day job or the local economy
- Prove to myself that I can do anything I set my mind to doing
- And to Create a nice little daily cash flow!
